William Jeffress

 

William S. Jeffress is a seasoned business professional, educator, and entrepreneur with a distinguished career in higher education, community leadership, and sports management. He serves as a Professor of Practice in Business and Entrepreneurialism at Erie County Community College, where he developed the Management and Entrepreneurial Thinking degree program and the Sport Business Management concentration, along with a comprehensive suite of business and sport industry courses.

Mr. Jeffress previously served as Vice President of Administration and Community Engagement at the college, leading key operations including finance, IT, marketing, business services, facilities, safety, and DEI initiatives. He built the institution’s foundational policies, implemented its Workday ERP system, and drove enrollment growth through strategic marketing and cross-functional leadership.

Before joining the college, Mr. Jeffress directed the Sport Business Management Program at Mercyhurst University, achieving a 100% placement rate for graduates and strengthening partnerships across the sport and business industries. His earlier roles span executive leadership at the Booker T. Washington Center, faculty and administrative positions at multiple colleges, athletic administration at Yale University and Teikyo Post University, and coaching in the United States Basketball League.

As an entrepreneur, he is the co-founder and board chairman of SMART JOCKS, LLC, a sports and entertainment management and mentoring agency, and co-founder of BLADE DOCTORS, LLC, a digital enterprise solutions firm.

Mr. Jeffress holds an MBA and a BS in Business Administration from New Haven University, has completed doctoral studies in Organizational Learning and Leadership, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Community College Leadership. Widely respected for his belief in sports as a platform for leadership and career readiness, he continues to champion education, innovation, and purpose-driven leadership across his teaching, business ventures, and community service.
